I would like to thank everyone who supported us, my family, my friends and everyone who loves Swimming as I do.
First of all, I want to thank everyone who rooted for us in Tokyo. Of course, there is a feeling that certain things should have turned out differently, but would it have been sports then? Sports are about highs and lows, and everyone goes through them. Some may say that a 4th place in Olympics is a great achievement, others may deem it to be a failure. I would say, if someone would have told me last year that I will have 4th place in individual races and in relays, I would have not practised less or be less motivated. I am happy with my results, finally I am close to the Russian National record in 100 M Fly. Yes, it is a bit sad to return home without a medal, at the same time, it made me stronger and more motivated and certainly my love for swimming is far more stronger now. I have strong urge to perfect, develop and grow.

About me
© OLYMPICCHANNEL.COM
I am Andrei «Minak» Minakov.
I am a swimmer.
I came to Swimming through skiing, my Mother wanted me to do Alpine Skiing. But as there was a lot of time free time during summer, she took me to Swimming classes. I was six at that time. Never looked back since then. Swimming, still I am. It feels good and natural to be in the pool and feel the water. Wonderful coaches, great friends, fabulous support, I have it all while Swimming. By the way, I am quite good at skiing too, I still go for it when I have time.
